What a weekend with Grolsch at our first CDI 🥹❤️

I’m so proud of us🥰It may not have been our highest scores, but it was a great first international together. We scored 66+% in the Team Test despite plenty of mistakes, and 67+% in the Individual Test with fewer mistakes and lots still to polish. I was really pleased that we identified what needed improving after day one and came back on day two determined to do better!💪

It still feels surreal to have been selected for the final observation trials after only being together for a few months. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and so proud of everything we’ve achieved in such a short time❤️🇬🇧

A huge thank you to BD Youth and the selectors for giving us this opportunity. I’ve learnt so much with Grolsch this weekend and can’t wait to keep growing with this very special boy🥹😘

Double winners in the Medium today with Jack!🥹🥇

So, so proud of this pony once again, he honestly feels amazing at the moment🤭We scored 68.79% in the first Medium, despite Jack almost falling over into the halt and then having a dramatic spook at some poo on the floor🤣🤦‍♀️But apart from that, the test felt really lovely!🫶

Then I read the second test and realised there was rein back AND canter down the centre line to halt😬🫣neither of which we’ve ever actually practised before🤫🤣So naturally we had a very quick boot camp session in the warm up, and Jack went into the arena and tried his heart out for me❤️

We managed about two steps of rein back (which was better than nothing🤣) and eventually got to halt after a slightly non-direct transition from canter🤣 Even with Jack feeling a little tired in the second test, we still managed 67.78%, which I was super happy with!😁

Honestly I couldn’t have been prouder of how hard he tried and how much he stayed with me the whole time😊

Wow, what a weekend at Hickstead!! 🤩🦄

Grolsch and I have had such a fun time and I’ve really loved getting to know him more and more. On day one we just missed that magic 68% by 0.2%, so I was super happy to come back today, improve on that AND score a 69% and finish 3rd 🥉✨

Neither test was completely clean, which makes it even more exciting as there’s definitely more to come😁🤞 But overall I was so much happier with the general work in today’s test💪

He kept his cool and produced the two best mediums he can at this stage of his training. Of course there were mistakes, big and small, but I was honestly over the moon with how he handled himself and kept going. We scored a 68% and a 69.5%🥈🤩so so happy!😁

Working with him has shown me he’s quite the perfectionist and can get frustrated with even the tiniest errors, so seeing him stay composed, professional, and try his heart out meant everything🥹💗

Some special moments of Jack from Sŵn Y Môr🤩

I honestly can’t put into words how proud I was of him on this day. After not competing since Sheepgate last year, just coming out and giving it his all meant everything. We’ve been working so so hard at home, and it’s finally starting to show in the tests😁✨

We had planned to enter the Elementary classes too, but we made a last-minute decision to step up and try some Mediums instead(😬)and he gave me absolutely everything.💪🥹Maybe a little too much at times (with some accidental changes in one test🤣), but I couldn’t be prouder of his effort and attitude❤️

Great weekend at Myerscough with Grolsch🥰

We rode the YR team test both days in the PYO classes and came away with 67+% and 66.8%😁 not bad for our first PSGs together!

Trot work felt much better on day two & the canter was stronger on day one… just need to put it all together next time🤣 Loads of mistakes in both tests, so we just need a bit more mileage as a team. But overall super happy with Mr Grolsch! I think we both really enjoyed being out competing this weekend😁

U25 Grand Prix at Myerscough 🤩🏆

An early start this morning taking Grolsch to Myerscough for the U25 GP! We had so much fun in the test. Quite a few little mistakes to iron out, but it felt better than our last one and we managed 63.85% and the win 😁🥇

Safe to say I still need a lot more Grand Prix mileage, these tests definitely keep me on my toes 😅 But I’m loving every minute of learning and getting stronger together💪🥰

The Inter2 at Vale View was such a blast! Not our cleanest test by any means, plenty of mistakes made and lots of lessons learned, but that’s how we grow😁

Herbie and I did our first advanced together 💪🎉
He has taught me so much over the season and I’m so glad I have the opportunity to go up the levels with him 🫶
He was slightly tense in our test as he missed his friend which lost us a few marks. And also my ability to count to 3 and 4 seemed to be a struggle 🤦‍♀️🤪
But overall it was a success first outing at this level as we gained a respectable 67% 🥇

Our first time practicing the higher moves for our first Advanced test. Herbie definitely enjoys going up the levels as pirouettes are his favourite move 🤪🫶
However to train at a high level it is vital that Herbie gets all the correct nutrients from his feed to fuel his training and competing. Thanks to @thepurefeedcompany Herbie is able to feel and look his best even at the ‘young age of 19’🫶 We feed Herbie the Performance mix as competition days demand more. It honestly feels so unreal to post this as we entered this season with no high expectations being in a very competitive year of juniors, but here I am saying that Herbie and I have been selected as the first reserves for the junior European Champions this year in Le Mans 🇫🇷🇬🇧

Herbie and I enjoyed our time at the final European selection this year in the junior class 💪
The team test wasn’t our best work as Herbie felt like ‘a slug in jam’ 🍓😂 and lacked a bit of power, however the individual test went much better and we managed to gain 68.8% to finish second 🥈😁

Super pleased with Herbie today in our first junior freestyle together, although there were technical issues with the music stopping and restarting mid test we still managed to hit 71%+ in a very strong class 🤩

Team and individual tests 🇬🇧
Herbie was such a good boy at our first international together. 🫶 The tests got better each day as we worked on the improvement comments from the judges and I also rode more accurately as the week went on🥴😁. We had a respectable 66% on the first test and a 68% on the second which put us in 3rd place 🥉💪.

Overall I’m super happy with our results and enjoy our time @addingtonequestrian 🌟Thank you so much to the selectors for this opportunity and my team around me for the endless support 🫶🫶

There were many different sessions over the camp from vet, physio, saddler, trot up training with Dan Chapman, test riding and training with Peter Store 💫 And also rider psychology and media sessions
